With few reservations, Celarity Operations Manager Milena Kain left her home in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and settled in Minnesota, where she received a warm reception. A move of that magnitude would be a big event for anyone, and Milena made the most of it, meeting new people and planning exciting engagements with new friends.
The first item on her agenda? Break out the books and earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at North Central University. Next on Milena’s itinerary was applying her talent as a project manager analyst at an IT firm, followed by an executive assistant position at a nonprofit organization.
In 2018, Milena pushed back against the conventional 9-5 role and began freelancing as a finance assistant. Supporting women-owned businesses was a keynote of her focus. That same year, she celebrated the launch of her own event-planning business, Bright Events, LLC. Even an act of God like the pandemic didn’t break down Milena or her business. Undeterred, she diligently attended to it, and it continued to flow. Now at Celarity, she conferences with the company’s consultants and manages HR and payroll-related questions.
There’s no doubt that across the board, Milena is a very happy person, especially when she’s drinking glass-bottled Coca-Cola (never from a can) and watching virtually any medical TV show. But the centerpiece of her life is her relationships.
For Milena, life is clearly a banquet to be experienced and enjoyed.
